UVP ChemStudio PLUS Imaging Systems are advanced and automated enabling image capture of gels and blots for multiple applications including chemiluminescence, fluorescence, colorimetric, IR, NIR and multiplex.

The darkroom is light tight creating optimum conditions for imaging gels and blots. The unique viewing window blocks UV while allowing visualization of samples without opening the darkroom door. The motorized five-position emission filter wheel includes ethidium bromide, SYBR Green and SYBR Gold filters for imaging a wide range of stained gels. Additional filters can be ordered for specific stains. Built-in epi lighting (365nm UV, 460-470nm blue light and broadband white light) enable overhead excitation and illumination of samples. Transillumination light is supplied by a choice of UV transilluminator for ultraviolet excitation plus a LED white light illuminator for viewing colonies, Coomassie Blue and Silver stained gels. The transilluminator fits on the easy-access roll-out tray. For chemiluminescent blots, a chemi tray easily fits on top of the transilluminator for placement of blots. A motorized lift platform allows software controlled adjustments of the tray height. A manual lift platform is also available.
The software features Preset Capture buttons for simple one-touch image capture. User-defined templates are great time savers and allow users to set and save darkroom and camera settings for quick, easy, repeat experiments. Modules allow selection of advanced functions such as integration, exposure time, binning, saturation preview and autoexposure. Sequential and dynamic integration tools are useful when capturing chemiluminescent blots, as the software enables multiple pictures to be taken at increasing exposure times. In-depth automated analysis allows generation of 1D quantitation, lane profile graphs, histograms, area density, Western blot densitometry, colony counting, multiplex and more. Easily create detailed and user-configured reports showing analysis results on Molecular Weights, Rf, position of bands, band intensities, area density calculations and more.
Add a BioLite MultiSpectral Light Source for IR, NIR and multiplex imaging applications. The BioLite supplies directed epi excitation of fluorescent multiplexed Western blots, DIGE 2D gels, PAGE gels and more. Filters are available for specific wavelength requirements.
