The 218651CL (BMD11D) is a portable, battery-powered 5 kV insulation resistance tester with push-buttons to select test voltages of 500, 1000, 2500 and 5000 V DC. The 218651CL offers an increased measurement range, to 500G ohms digital, 1T ohms analog. The analog/digital LCD displays from 100k ohms to 1T ohms in all test ranges. An integral timer automatically controls the duration of the test. Use the 218651CL to test the insulation resistance of high-voltage power cables, large motor/generator windings, line and substation transformers, and high-voltage buses. It can perform spot test, step-voltage tests, and dielectric absorption tests for acceptance testing, routine preventative/predictive maintenance testing, quality assurance testing, and diagnostic testing.
