The Ocean Optics Red Tide educational spectrometer couples a low-cost, high-performance 2048-element linear CCD-array detector with an optical bench that’s small enough to fit into the palm of your hand.
- Length: 8.9 cm
- Width: 6.3 cm
- Height: 3.4 cm
- CCD-Array Detector
- USB Port
Users can choose single wavelengths for Beer’s Law studies or scan a single wavelength versus time for kinetics studies. Preconfigured, the spectrometer is ready to use right out of the box with all optical bench options, such as grating and entrance slit size, already selected. The Red Tide spectrometer operates within a wavelength range of 380—1000 nm with a resolution of
2.0 nm. In total, it covers 650 wavelengths over its range. The Red Tide can be used with various Ocean Optics spectrometer accessories, light sources, and sampling optics to create application-specific systems for various absorbance, reflection, and emission applications.
Users can also interface to a PC via the Red Tide’s USB port, which streamlines start-up and supports hot swapping of the spectrometer. The system operates on SpectraSuite Spectroscopy Software, the first spectroscopy software to run in Macintosh, Linux, and Windows. The Red Tide also works with PASCO and Vernier software. The spectrometer is also available with an integrated light source and direct attach cuvette holder, which includes an additional a USB cable and eight plastic cuvettes.
