Wilcom's Optical Fiber Identifiers are rugged metal units that provide you with the best sensitivity detection on the market today. You can use these versatile fiber identifier devices for both your singlemode and multimode fiber optic applications. These optical fiber identifiers operate by inducing a macro-bend in the fiber optic cable, which enables the unit to detect the presence and direction of light within the optical fiber. You can also use the optical fiber identifier to detect the presence of 2kHz, 1kHz or 270Hz modulated tones, and certain Wilcom models display Relative Core Power Measurements.
Wilcom Optical Fiber Identifiers are part of the extensive line of fiber optic test and inspection equipment available from FIS. These include fiber optic Light Sources, Power Meters, OTDR's, Loss Test Sets, Fiber Identifiers, Microscopes, Visual Fault Locators and Continuity Testers.
The optical head on the Wilcom Optical Fiber Identifier accepts 3mm, 250µm /Ribbon or 900µm fibers. A 2mm head is also available. Wilcom Optical Fiber Identifiers are supplied with 9V alkaline battery and carry case.
