Cooling Tower Description

Different types of jobs and needs have different requirements, and this is important to remember when making a selection for your cooling tower. When you are renting a cooling tower, make sure that you are getting the right type of unit for the job. Take the time to look into the different types of units available and choose the one that makes the most sense for you. Consider the capacity of the cooling tower, as well as the size and the amount of space it will take up, just to make sure you have the room for it.

Features of cooling towers

It is important to remember that not all cooling towers are right for all applications, as the different types of towers mentioned above illustrate. All of the cooling towers will have some similar components though. These include the fill, nozzles, water, and blowers. Different types of cooling towers may have some slightly different features based on just how they work though.

How cooling towers work

There are a number of different types of cooling towers available, so finding the one that is right for your need should be possible. A crossflow cooling tower allows the water to flow vertically through the fill, while the air flows horizontally. In this type of system, the air does not have to pass through the distribution system. Counterflow cooling towers have the air flow upward to counter the water that is flowing down into the fill. Induced draft cooling towers have fans mounted to the top of the unit. They pull air through the fill media. In a forced draft unit, blowers based at the air inlet’s base are pushing the air.

About cooling towers

A cooling tower is a type of heat exchanger. It brings water and air into contact with one another as a means to reduce the temperature of the water. When this happens, some of the water is evaporated, which reduces the temperature of the water circulating through the tower. Having a cooling tower on hand helps to ensure production can continue even when it is hot out thanks to the additional cooling capacity they can provide. They are also a great idea for helping to provide additional cooling during an emergency.
